Weekly Review...Early!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

This was Grant's 2nd Christmas. He didn't care to unwrap presents....but he sure enjoyed the toys inside the wrapping. Here is a video from this past week (including Christmas). I got a new camera for Christmas so there are sure to be many more photos/videos in the new future as it is much nicer than my old camera.

Grant got a Red Wagon Tricycle which he loves - but he is too short to reach the peddles. He also got a interactive bouncy horse....which he likes to get on and off. The other hit toy this year was a Leap Frog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo - when I opened it he played with it non-stop for 20 minutes!

As I was waiting for this video to upload I gave Grant a bath and got him ready for bed. Then as we do every night I started to read him a book. Normally we read "Good Night Moon" but for the past couple of nights we have been reading "Hush Little Baby". If you know the book it is like a song....so I sang it to him. As I'm reading/singing the book I notice Grant's face - a big frown and he is starting to tear up. I guess Nate was right - I'm not a very good singer....and Grant just couldn't take it anymore. Oh well I guess it is back to our normal book.

Missed video

This video was taken after I completed the weekly video last night. It is kind of dark lighting but I think you can see why we thought it was so cute.

Weekly round-up

We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

The past week Grant had his friend Caleb over for a visit. They had so much fun playing. It was great to see them actually playing together - instead of just next to each other. It is funny to think that when they first met (about 6 months ago) they would cry at the sight of one another. People even asked us if they didn't like each other. Now they are good friends who like to play together.

Christmas memories

My friend Julie is doing a wonderful job of sharing her Christmas memories on her blog site - it is so much fun to read. Well today when Grant was playing with one of his diapers (thankfully a clean one) it made me think of a Christmas memory from my childhood.

When I was a child we would go to my Grandparent's house for Christmas and every year Grandma would give us underwear for Christmas. To some degree the underwear reflected her feelings about you that year....white = good, red = not so good. You know what I mean. And if you married into the family you knew you were "in" with Grandma if you got underwear for Christmas too. Anyway, when you opened your package of underwear you had to put them on your head for everyone to see (ya I know kind of weird....).

Well Grant must have found his package of underwear this year as he is carrying on the tradition.

Spring is coming....

As 2-4 inches of snow fall today and we are under a collision warning (what exactly does that mean?)...I think spring is on the way when I look at my new garden.

Check out my new indoor garden.

Weekly video

Here is our weekly video. Hope you enjoy. I told my family I was sending the little guy out on a greyhound bus this week. He has been into everything this past week. He is 14 months going on 2 years old. I'm calling it the "Pre-Terrible Twos". Regardless he is still fun and makes us laugh all the time.

As you can tell by the photos and videos Grant loves his little white piano toy. Every morning he plays with that toy.

Christmas comes early for some

Christmas came early this year for Grant....check out his Little Tikes bouncer. I figured since he is only 14 months old and doesn't really know anything about Christmas or wrapped gifts why wait to enjoy this present.

So far he loves to crawl in the bouncer and chase his toys. He hasn't tried standing yet.

Where does it all go?

Yesterday I decided to write down what Grant ate all day...as it seems like a ton.

Breakfast:
1 cup old fashioned oatmeal with brown sugar
4 oz diced pears
3 oz whole milk
Snack:
3 handfuls goldfish
4 oz applesauce
Lunch:
1/2 peanut butter & grape jelly sandwich
5 green beans
4 oz applesauce
1 handful goldfish
Snack:
Apple cereal bar
4 oz pears
1 handful goldfish
Dinner:
2 mini corn dogs
1/3 can of green beans
5 oz whole milk

As you can see Grant eat goldfish all the time - they are one of his favorite snacks. He also loves oatmeal and pears - which is the same every morning for breakfast. He refuses to eat anything other than oatmeal and pears for breakfast.

I guess he is trying to fill these shoes!

Check out the new hair cut...the buzz! I got some new clippers the other day and buzzed all the hair off.

On Sunday we woke up to snow. The first snow of the year. Here are some photos. It was pretty to see but after about 30 minutes I was over it.....and the snow season has just started. It is going to be a long winter!

Last week

It is hard to believe we went a complete week without taking any pictures of Grant....but with good reason.

The poor boy was sick all week. Starting Saturday night at midnight he was throwing up all he had eaten that day - which continued almost all week. I think by day two he was scared to eat for fear he might toss it back later that day and we were scared to feed him for the same reason. He was such a little trooper. We are all glad that the flu bug has passed and he is doing much better now.

Since I don't have any photos (trust me you wouldn't have wanted to see them) here are some photos from the same time last year. It is amazing how big he is now.
